إن الأعطال المفاجئة لمترو الانفاق تحتاج إلى الصيانة الطارئة لها، والتي عادة ما تكون مكلفة باعتبارها صيانة غير مخطط لها مسبقا، حيث يحتاج الأمر إلى اتخاذ إجراءات معينة وصرف مواد وقطع غيار وأحياناً استبدال معدات كاملة، إضافة إلى الآثار السلبية التي تنعكس على الركاب نتيجة تكرار هذه الأعطال ، إن التأثير السلبي لأعطال مترو الانفاق على الركاب يحتم على الشركة الاهتمام بفاعلية أداء الصيانة، ولتحقيق هذا الهدف يجب أن يكون هناك معايير لقياس أداء عمليات الصيانة، ويجب أن تطبق بشكل جيد، حيث إن كثرة الأعطال تعكس التدني في أداء الصيانة وعدم فاعليتها، في حين أن النظام المتقن للفحص والصيانة سيمكن من تشغيل مترو الانفاق بكفاءة وأمان وبأقل أعطال ممكنة، ويساهم في بناء وتطوير خطوط مترو الانفاق خطوة بخطوة
ومن هذا المنطلق فقد هدفت هذه الدراسة إلى التعرف علي دور تطبيق الصيانة الوقائية على انخفاض كفاءة عمل مترو الأنفاق لوحدات الخط الثاني حيث توصل الباحث إلى النتائج التالية

Sudden subway malfunctions require emergency maintenance, which is usually costly as unplanned maintenance in advance. Specific actions are required, materials, spare parts and sometimes complete equipment replacements, as well as the adverse effects on passengers of repeated malfunctions; The negative impact of subway malfunctions on passengers makes it imperative for the company to take care of the efficiency of its maintenance performance, and to achieve this objective there must be standards to measure its maintenance performance. It should be applied well, as frequent failures reflect poor maintenance performance and inefficiency, while a sophisticated inspection and maintenance system will enable efficient and safe subway operation with minimal failures. It contributes to building and developing subway lines step by step. From this point of view, this study aimed to identify the role of applying preventive maintenance on low work efficiency. The researcher recommends the following.
