هدفت الدراسة الحالية إلى الوقوف على واقع برامج التعليم المستمر بدولة الكويت، والكشف عن التحديات التي تواجه هذه البرامج، فضلًا عن التعرف على متطلباتها والوصول إلى التصور المقترح لتحسين دور التعليم المستمر في مواجهة التحديات المستقبلية بدولة الكويت، وقد تكون مجتمع الدراسة من جميع أعضاء هيئة التدريس بمركز خدمة المجتمع والتعليم المستمر بجامعة الكويت، بينما اشتملت عينة الدراسة على (230) عضو هيئة تدريس، وقد تبنى الباحث المنهج الكمي كمنهج للدراسة، كما استعان بناء استبانة للكشف عن التعليم المستمر ودوره في مواجهة التحديات المستقبلية بالكويت، وقد توصلت الدراسة إلى عدة نتائج أهمها: 1. جاء محور واقع برامج التعليم المستمر بدولة الكويت بدرجة استجابة (عالية)، ويرجع ذلك إلى أن الجامعة تُعطي الأولوية في الترقي والتدرج الوظيفي لأعضاء هيئة التدريس المنخرطون في برامج التعليم المستمر، بالإضافة إلى اهتمام الجامعة بعقد الجامعة لورش العمل من أجل التوعية بأهمية المشاركة في برامج التعليم المستمر. 2. جاء محور التحديات التي تواجه برامج التعليم المستمر بدولة الكويت بدرجة استجابة متوسطة، ويرجع ذلك إلى توفير الجامعة البرامج التدريبية المناسبة للمستجدات التربوية والتقنية الحديثة، بالإضافة إلى وجود رسالة واضحة للجامعة من بين أهدافها الرئيسية تطبيق برامج التعليم المستمر. 3. جاء محور متطلبات برامج التعليم المستمر لمواجهة التحديات المستقبلية بدولة الكويت بدرجة استجابة (عالية)، ويرجع ذلك إلى وعي الجامعة بأهمية التعلم المستمر في تطوير المجتمعات من خلال تنمية المهارات والقدرات الفردية. وأوصت الدراسة بالعديد من التوصيات أهمها ضرورة توفير الأجهزة المتطورة لتسهيل عملية تطبيق برامج التعليم المستمر، وتوفير برامج تدريبية من أجل تدريب أعضاء هيئة التدريس على مجال التعلم المستمر

This study aimed to determine the reality of continuing education programmes in Kuwait, the issues that these programmes face, as well as their requirements, and the proposed vision for improving continuing education’s role in tackling future challenges in Kuwait. The study community consisted of all faculty members at Kuwait University’s Deanship of Community Service and Continuing Education, while the study sample included (230) faculty members. The researcher adopted the quantitve approach as the study method and used a questionnaire to reveal continuing education and its role in tackling future challenges in Kuwait. The study yielded some conclusions, the most noteworthy of which are:
1. The axis of the reality of continuing education programmes in Kuwait came with a (high) response degree, and this is due to the fact that the university gives priority to the promotion and career progression to faculty members involved in continuing education programmes, in addition to the university’s interest in holding workshops.
2. The axis of the issues confronting continuing education programmes in Kuwait was met with a medium level of response, and this is due to the university providing training programmes appropriate to modern educational and technical developments, in addition to the presence of a clear message for the university among its main objectives to implement continuing education programmes.
3. The axis of continuing education programme requirements in Kuwait to tackle future challenges came with a high response degree. This is due to the university’s recognition of the need for continuing education in emerging societies through the development of individual skills and talents.
The study reached many recommendations including the need for modern equipment to ease the implementation of continuing education programmes, as well as training programmes for faculty members interested in the sector.
