This thesis is an accurate archaeological study specializing in fashion. It deals with all elements of fashion and connects them to get precise results about fashion in Ancient Egypt and its development through eras. The study is structured into the following chapters:
Introduction
The introduction includes the definition of fashion and its components. It also contains the previous studies, objectives of the study, the difficulties that faced the researcher, the methodology and the chapter synopses.
Chapter one: Clothing
This chapter will discuss the overall ideology, development, and design of Ancient Egyptian clothing in relation to the role of elite women in Ancient Egyptian society. This chapter will provide examples with the scenes for the different types of clothing commonly worn by women.
Chapter two: Headgear
This chapter aims to investigate the development of the form of headdress and wigs. It will deal with all the hair procedures from washing hair to dye and coloring. It will be examined and discussed separately according to three criteria: construction, symbolism, and interpretation. This chapter will provide a catalogue with the scenes for the different types of headgear commonly worn by women.
Chapter three: Accessories
This chapter provides a background of different types of jewelry. This chapter will discuss the precious metals and semi-precious and imitation material favored by Ancient Egyptian jewelers as necessary background to the investigation of examples. The mythological and magical beliefs surrounding the material and color connotations will also be included as these plays an important role in their incorporation into personal adornment.
Chapter four: Beauty & Cosmetics
This chapter illustrates the practices of body adornment such as cosmetics, washing, anointing, scenting even tattoo. It also will deal with the scenes of body adornment through the illustrations of the tombs.

الفصل الأول: الملابس
سيناقش هذا الفصل الأيديولوجية الشاملة وتطور وتصميم الملابس المصرية القديمة فيما يتعلق بدور نساء
النخبة في المجتمع المصري القديم. سيقدم هذا الفصل أمثلة لأنواع مختلفة من الملابس التي ترتديها النساء
عادة.
الفصل الثاني: أغطية الرأس
يهدف هذا الفصل إلى التحقيق في تطور شكل غطاء الرأس والشعر المستعار. سيتعامل مع جميع إجراءات
الشعر من غسل الشعر إلى الصبغة والتلوين. سيتم فحصها ومناقشتها بشكل منفصل وفقا لثلاثة معايير:
الشكل والرمزية والتفسير. سيقدم هذا الفصل كتالوجا بالأنواع المختلفة من أغطية الرأس التي ترتديها النساء
عادة .
الفصل الثالث: الاكسسوارات
يقدم هذا الفصل خلفية لأنواع مختلفة من المجوهرات. سيناقش هذا الفصل المعادن الثمينة والمواد شبه
الكريمة والمقلدة التي يفضلها الجواهريون المصريون القدماء كخلفية ضرورية للتحقيق في الأمثلة. كما
سيتم تضمين المعتقدات الأسطورية والسحرية المحيطة بدلالات المواد والألوان لأنها تلعب دورا مهما في
دمجها في الزينة الشخصية .
الفصل الرابع: الجمال ومستحضرات التجميل
يوضح هذا الفصل ممارسات زينة الجسم مثل مستحضرات التجميل والغسيل والدهن والرائحة حتى الوشم.
كما سيتعامل مع مناظر زينة الجسد من خلال المناظ ر للمقابر .
