استجابة لمقتضيات العصر ومتطلباته، وحاجة المسلمين للعودة إلى القرآن الكريم، وضرورة السعي لرفعة ونهضة الأمة، كان لابد من ضرورة التجديد في التفسير، فظهر دعاة مجددون رفعوا راية الإصلاح من بينهم الشيخان الجليلان: رشيد رضا، والطاهر بن عاشور ، واللذان خطا لنفسيهما اتجاها فكريًّا جديدًا، بالقراءة الواعية لواقع الأمة فقصدا إلى النهوض بها وإصلاح أحوالها، وهذا لا يكون إلا بتجديد أساليب الفهم للنص القرآني، فحاولا تنـزيل التفسير على واقع الأمة لعلاج مشاكلها، فالهدف الرئيس من هذه الدراسة هو التعرف على ما قدم هذان التفسيران من تصور لمنهج فهم القرآن من حيث هداية الله والمقاصد العليا، ثم الانطلاق إلى النهضة العلمية والدينية والسياسية، لتقويم اعوجاج العالم الإسلامي، ومما عزز ذلك ما للشيخين من جذور في الفكر الإصلاحي وذلك باستمداههما للفكر الإصلاحي من زعماء الإصلاح في القرن العشرين أمثال السيد جمال الدين الأفغاني والإمام محمد عبده.

In response to the necessities of the age, Muslims’ need to return to the Holy Qur’an, the strive for the elevation and renaissance of the nation, it was a must to renew the interpretation. Thus, renewing advocates appeared, including Rashid Reda and Al-Taher bin Ashor, marking a new perspective via concious reading of the reality of the nation, intending to refom it by renewing the methods of understanding the Qur’anic text and applying them to the reality of the nation to solve its problems. The main purpose of this study is to illustrate these interpretations concerning God’s guidance and His high intentions in the Qur’an, reaching scientific, religious, and political renaissance to straighten the crookedness of the Islamic world. Both Sheikhs possess roots of reform thought derived from great reformists of the 20th century such as Sayyid Jamal al-Din al-Afghani and Imam Muhammad Abdo
