تحاول هذه الدراسة الوقوف على الجوانبِ الكلاميةِ والفلسفيةِ لأهم شخصياتِ التصوف الفلسفي ودراستِها، دون تعرُّضٍ للجوانب الصوفية التي قد ركَّزت عليها دراساتٌ سابقةٌ كثيرةٌ. وقد جاءت هذه الدراسة في مقدمة، وتمهيدٍ، وأربعة فصول، وخاتمة:
تناولت في التمهيد موقف ابن عربي والسهروردي من قضية الوجود. أما الفصل الأول فقد خصصته لدراسة المشكلات الكلامية المتعلقة بالإلهيات، والموقف منها: وقد تعرضت فيه لموقف ابن عربي والسهروردي من معرفة حقيقة الذات الإلهية، وأدلة وجود الله، ومسألة الصفات. أما الفصل الثاني فقد خصصته لدراسة المشكلات الكلامية المتعلقة بالعالَم، والخلق المتجدد، والخلق المباشر. أما الفصل الثالث فقد تعرضت فيه لدراسة المشكلات الكلامية المتعلقة بمسائل النبوات، وموقف ابن عربي والسهروردي منها، وقد تناولت فيه العلاقة بين النبوة والولاية، والنبوة بين الاختصاص والاكتساب. أما الفصل الخامس فقد خصصته لدراسة المشكلات الكلامية المتعلقة بالسمعيات، وموقف ابن عربي والسهروردي منها: وقد تعرضت فيه لدراسة الموقف من الوعد والوعيد، والموقف من الرحمة الشاملة، والموقف من المعاد الجُسْماني.

The study accentuates the theological and philosophical aspects of the most important figures of philosophical Sufism and studying them, without exposing the Sufi aspects that many previous studies have focused on. This study consists of an introduction, a preface, four chapters, and a conclusion:
In the introduction, the study discusses the position of Ibn ‘Arabī and Al-Suhrawardī on the issue of existence.
As for the first chapter, I devoted it to studying the theological problems related to divinity, and the position on it: In this chapter, I addressed the position of Ibn ‘Arabī and Al-Suhrawardī regarding knowing the truth of the divine essence, the evidence for the existence of Allah, and the issue of attributes.
As for the second chapter, I devoted it to studying the various theological problems related to the world ,the renewed creation, and the direct creation.
As for the third chapter, I examine the theological problems related to the problem of prophecy, and the position of Ibn ‘Arabī and Al-Suhrawardī on it. In this chapter, I discuss the relationship between prophecy and sainthood (wilāya), whether or not prophecy is acquired or eclectically given.
In the fourth chapter, I devoted it to studying the theological problems related to testimonial beliefs, and the position of Ibn ‘Arabī and Al-Suhrawardī on them. In this chapter, I study the position on the promise and the threat (W'aad and Wa'eed), and the position on comprehensive mercy, the position on the physical resurrection,
