تهدف الرسالة إلى تحليل المبني للأوسط من الناحية الدلالية - باستخدام المنهج الوصفي - من خلال توضيح العلاقة بينه وبين الأبنية الأخرى (المعلوم والمجهول) وإلقاء الضوء على وظائفهم الدلالية والفروق فيما بينهم بالإضافة إلى توضيح الفروق الدلالية بين الأزمنة في الأبنية المختلفة وكذلك شرح دلالة أفعال الديبونينتيا وعلاقاتها بالمبني للأوسط، وذلك بالتطبيق بالأمثلة على أجزاء الرواية البيزنطية روذانثي وذوسيكليس"، كما ساهمت معرفة الاستخدامات الدلالية المتنوعة في محو مفهوم " الوسطية" للمبني للأوسط (أي أنه وسيط بين البنائين المعلوم والمجهول) من حيث المعنى والتكوين، لكنه يعتبر من الناحية الدلالية بناء مستقلا يحمل دلالات متنوعة بل وساعدت الكاتب في تحقيق التنوع في أسلوبه وتحليله لشخصيات روايته الرومانسية المليئة بالمواقف الشخصية والعاطفية والتي نجحت الدلالات المتنوعة للمبني للأوسط في التعبير عنها.

This Study aims to analyze The Middle voice and shed light on its semantic uses
and purposes by using the descriptive method through extracting practical examples
from nine parts of the Byzantine Romance “Rhodanthe & Dosikles”. Moreover, this
treatise illustrates semantic distinctions between the Middle voice and other voices
(Active & Passive) and shows the meaning of Deponent verbs and its semantic link
with the Middle voice. Besides, the various semantic uses of The Middle voice have
eliminated the concept of mediation of the Middle voice (that is, the middle voice as
the mediator between both the Active and Passive voices) and prove its
independency through its different semantic meanings. Likewise, The Middle voice
helped Theodor the Author to versify in his literally & technical style, in addition it
played a very important effective role in helping him to examine the psychology of
