تستهدف الدراسة رصد معالجة القنوات العربية والأجنبية لقضايا اللاجئين والهجرة غير النظامية لأوروبا واتجاهات الرأي العام المصري نحو تلك القضايا، ورصد دوافعِ متابعة أفراد عينة الدراسة (الرأي العام المصري ) لقضايا اللاجئين والهجرة غير النظامية لأوروبا بالقنوات الفضائية العربية والأجنبية محل الدراسة ، ورصد وقياس العلاقة بين عادات وأنماط متابعة أفراد عينة الدراسة (الرأي العام المصري ) للقنوات الفضائية العربية والأجنبية محل الدراسة والثقة في المعلومات الواردة عن اللجوء والهجرة غير النظامية ، وقياس العلاقة بين كثافة متابعة أفراد عينة الدراسة (الرأي العام المصري ) لقضايا اللاجئين والهجرة غير النظامية لأوروبا بالقنوات الفضائية العربية والأجنبية محل الدراسة ، ومعرفة المخاطر التي يتعرضُ لها اللاجئون والمهاجرون غير النظاميين ، والتعرف على اتجاهات الرأي العام المصري حولَ أُطر المعالجة المطروحة بالقنوات الفضائية العربية والأجنبية لقضايا اللاجئين والهجرة غير النظامية لأوروبا، ورصد الفروق بين المبحوثين بقضايا اللاجئين والهجرة غير النظامية لأوروبا ، باختلاف الخصائص الديموغرافية (النوع – السن – التعليم – المستوى الاقتصادي والاجتماعي)، وتنتمي هذه الدراسة إلى الدراسات الوصفية (Descriptive Research)، أي أنها تستهدف وصف خصائص جمهور وسائل الإعلام وأنماطه وسلوكه، كما لا تقف الدراسة الوصفية عند حدود الوصف والتشخيص، بل تتجاوز ذلك إلى وصف العلاقات الارتباطية لأغراض اكتشاف الحقائق المرتبطة بها وتعميمها.
وطبقت الدراسة على عينة بلغ قوامها 400 مفردة من محافظات (القاهرة- الشرقية- سوهاج) ورُعي النوع والمراحل العمرية والتعليم والمستوى الاجتماعي والاقتصادي والمنطقة الجغرافية لتكون عينة ممثلة ومعبرة عن الرأي العام المصري.

The study aims to explore the treatment by Arab and foreign channels of the issues of refugees and irregular migration to Europe and the trends of Egyptian public opinion towards those issues, and to monitor the motives of Egyptians to follow the issues of refugees and irregular migration to Europe on the Arab and foreign satellite channels.
Also, the study aimed to measure the relationship between the respondents' habits of exposure to Arab and foreign satellite channels, and their confidence in the information received about refugees and irregular migration, and measuring the relationship between the intensity of respondents' exposure to the issues of refugees and irregular migration to Europe on the Arab and foreign satellite channels.
Also, exploring the risks to which refugees and irregular migrants are exposed, and Knowing about the trends of Egyptian public opinion regarding the treatment's frames of the issues of refugees and irregular migration to Europe presented on Arab and foreign satellite channels.
Also, the study aimed to monitor the differences between respondents according to different demographic characteristics (gender, age, and education, economic and social level).
This study belongs to descriptive research, aims to describe the characteristics, patterns, and behavior of the media audience. It also does not stop at the limits of description and diagnosis, but goes beyond to describe correlational relationships for the purposes of discovering and generalizing facts related to them.
The study was applied to a sample of 400 respondents from the governorates of (Cairo, Sharkia, and Sohag), covering gender, age stages, education, social and economic level, and geographical region, to be a representative and expressive sample of Egyptian public opinion
