تحاول هذه الدراسة تسليط الضوء على صناعة المنسوجات المصرية، وسعي بنك مصر لإحياء هذه الصناعة التي عملت الرأسمالية العالمية على وأدها، ومحاصرتها منذ ضرْب تجربة محمد علي باشا الصناعية للحفاظ على السوق المصري كوحدة من وحدات السوق الرأسمالية العالمية، وكذلك رصد نشاط شركات المنسوجات التي أسسها بنك مصر وإلى أي مدى نجحت هذه الشركات؟ والإجابة على سؤال مهم وهو: ما حجم التغير الذي طرأ على صناعة المنسوجات بعد إنشاء بنك مصر وشركاته العاملة في تلك الصناعة؟ وقد اتخذت الدراسة من عام ١٩٢٠ بداية لها؛ باعتباره العام الذي تأسس فيه بنك مصر الذي أحدث طفرة كبيرة في مجال صناعة المنسوجات، وبداية قيام النهضة الصناعية التي تبناها البنك، وجعلها أهم أهدافه، بينما اتخذت الدراسة من عام ١٩٦٠ نهاية لها؛ لأنه العام الذي شهد تأميم بنك مصر وكافة شركاته.

This study attempts to shed light on the Egyptian textile industry, and Bank Misr's endeavor to revive this industry, which global capitalism has worked to kill and besiege since Muhammad Ali Pasha's industrial experiment to maintain the Egyptian market as a unit of the global capitalist market, as well as monitoring the activity of textile companies established by Bank Misr and to what extent these companies succeeded? How much change occurred in the textile industry after the establishment of Bank Misr and its companies operating in that industry? The study took the year 1920 as the year in which Bank Misr was established, which made a great leap in the textile industry, and the beginning of the industrial renaissance adopted by the bank and made it its most important goal, while the study took the year 1960 as its end because it was the year that witnessed the nationalization of Bank Misr and all its companies.
