Purpose :This study was conducted to indicate the impact of manual diaphragmatic release technique on diaphragmatic excursion post partial pancreaticoduodenectomy. Subjects and methods: Sixty males and females diagnosed clinically by physician as post partial pancreaticoduodenectomy. Their age ranged from 35 to 55 years. They were assigned randomly into two groups (A, B) equal in number. Group A received manual diaphragmatic release technique with traditional treatment (breathing exercises ,vibration and percussion) for 12 sessions performed in a period of 4 weeks (three times weekly).While, Group B received traditional treatment (breathing exercises ,vibration and percussion) ) for 12 sessions performed in a period of 4 weeks (three times weekly). Diaphragmatic excursion was assessed by ultrasonography respectively before treatment and after 4weeks. Results: there was a statistically highly significant improvement in diaphragmatic excursion for patients post pancreaticoduodenectomy of group (A) when compared with its corresponding value in group (B) (p <0.001). Conclusion: manual diaphragmatic release technique was an effective method to improve diaphragmatic excursion for patients post pancreaticoduodenectomy more than traditional treatment (breathing exercises ,vibration and percussion) only.
اجريت هزه الدراسه لمعرفه تاثير الإفراج اليدوي للحجاب الحاجز على حركة الحجاب الحاجز بعد الاستئصال الجزئي للبنكرياس والاثنى عشر ، شارك في هذه الدراسه 60 مريض من الذكور والاناث(41 ذكر و 19 انثى) وتم تقسيمهم عشوائيا الي مجموعتين متساويتين في العدد ، المجموعه الاولي تلقوا الإفراج اليدوي للحجاب الحاجز بالاضافه الي تمارين التنفس التقليدية لمدة 12 جلسة في خلال 4 أسابيع بمقدار 3 جلسات في الأسبوع ، المجموعه التانيه تلقوا تمارين التنفس التقليدية فقط لمدة 12 جلسة في خلال 4 أسابيع بمقدار 3 جلسات في الأسبوع ، وقد تم تقيمهم قبل العلاج وبعد 4 اسابيع باستخدام الموجات فوق الصوتية.
وقد اظهرت النتائج تحسنا ذو دلاله إحصائية في المجموعتين ولكن في المجموعة الاولي اكثر من المجموعة الثانية وقد اتضح ذلك في تغير القياسات المحيطية والمدي الحركي لحركة الحجاب الحاجز في المجموعة الاولي اكثر من المجموعة الثانية.
