Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty Of Nursing - Department Of Surgical Nursing Summary: This study was conducted to assess nutritional status among patients with liver cirrhosisA convenient sample of 100 adult male and female patients were selectedTwo tools were utilized including (1) Socio - demographic data sheet (2) Nutritional assessment form including screening nutritional assessment and comprehensive nutritional assessmentSocio - demographic data sheet and nutritional assessment form were completed within 48 hours from admission to identify patients who are nutritionally at riskThe study results showed statistically significant difference between gender and occupation , level of education , mobility status , and history of smoking , and between residence and occupationThe majority of patients especially females and urban had a different degree of obesity more than male and rural patients ; there was statistically significant difference between anthropometric measurements as TSF , MAC , MAMC , WC , and body mass index
