Thesis (Ph.D.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Science - Department of Physics
The first part of the present thesis concerns with the study of the validity of two approximations used in the diffraction theory for rotational transitions. The first approximation is based on using the gaussian form to represent the deformed density distribution. The use of this representation enables us to obtain analytically the integrals of phase shift functions
