Dissertation note: Thesis (Ph.D.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Agriculture. - Department of Agronomy Summary: This investigation was conduced on eleven Egyptian cottons namely G.45, G.87 and (G.77XPS6) (extra long extra fine) G.70, G.88 and G84x (G. 89XPS6) (Delta long staple) to carry out a comparative study on fiber quality spinning potential and yarn quality of these cottons .The obtained results indicated that the promising cross (G. 77XPS6) was superior to G. 45 and G. 87 in fiber length strength and UI % moreover produced yarns of slighty higher strength however the three cottons showed similar yarn elongation and evenness
