The use of intraoperative duplex scanning reduces the incidence of surgical technical defects that could threaten graft patency Occasionally , duplex ultrasound is unable to differentiate between a very tight stenosis and total occlusion In high grade stenosis the flow velocity falls to a low level and may be undetected unless the Doppler detecting system is adjusted correctly by the investigator
