Dissertation note: Thesis (Ph.D.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Medicine - Department of Internal Medicine Summary: Idiopathic membranous nephropathy is the most common from of nephotic syndrome in adults . The immune-mediated glomerular injury in membranous nephropathy is associated with increased production of tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-a ) which may play a contributory role . The aim of our work is to explore the role of pentoxifylline therapy on the level of tumor necrsis factor alpha (TNF- a ) in patients with idiopathic membranous nephropathy and the beneficial effect on proteinuria serum albumin after administration of pentoxifylline
