Dissertation note: Thesis (Ph.D.) - Cairo University - Faculty Of Veterinary Medicine - Department Of Microbiology , Bacteriology , Mycology and Immunology Summary: The present work was undertaken to evaluate the different methods to determine the efficacy of antifungals.These methods included determination of Minimum Inhibition Concentration (MIC) , colony fungal count , disc diffusion technique , and effect of exposure time methods.For application of these methods , the used fungal isolates were recovered from clinical diseased animal cases as dermatophytosis , diarrhoea , mastitis and mycotic pneomonia.The evaluated antifungals included disinfectants (glutraldehyde and formaline) , mould inhibitors (benzoic , propionic and sorbic acids) and antimycotics (griseofulvin , nystatin , itrconazole and ketoconazole) .The present results revealed that the efficacy of used antifungals must be evaluated by the all above mentioned methods before their recomendation for their use the half lethal dose was also evaluated in experimental animals (mice) the obtained results were statistically analyzed and comparison between the effects of antifungal compounds to individual fungal isolate were determined the signi
