The Marshall mix design method is the most commonly used procedure for asphalt mix preparation and design in Egypt and many other countries worldwideAlthough , the asphalt concrete mixes do satisfy the Marshall criteria of deign , the highway network do not perform very well under the standard axle load repetitions over the pavement design lifeThis traditional procedure problem may be due to Marshall design method emphasizes the improvement of strength represented by stability as well as the reduction of rutting represented by flow without considering the different factors that affect the asphalt concrete pavement at fieldSuch factors are traffic loading , traffic repetitions , environmental conditions , loading pattern , and rate of loading
