A major obective to determine the temperature distribution in a sulfur hex fluoride (SF2) gas cooled - insulated power transformer which is essential and important element of power systems.in this thesis finite element technique was ultized to perform heat transfer analysis to obtain the steady state and the transient temperature distribution at any specified location withen this kind of transformers
