Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Institute of Education Studies - Department of Curriculum and Medthods of Teaching Summary: The present study aimed at investigating the effect of journal writing on developing Pre - service EFL teachers` reading comprehension and writing skills and on reducing their writing apprehension . the sample of the study consisted of 60 students from among first year English majors at the Faculty of Education Fayoum University. Tools of the study included : reading comprehension test writing apprehension scale of Daly and Miller (1975) . Results revealed that journal writing was effective in developing Pre - service EFL teachers` reading comprehension and writing skills and in reducing their writing apprehension
