For high energy linear accelerators LINACs neutrons are produced as a consequence of photonuclear reactions in the target nuclei accelerator head field flattening filters and beam collimators and other irradiated objects . Very few and insufficient information on the neutron terms is provided by the accelerators manufacturers and measured data available in literature are usually valid for a very specific machines and cannot be extended to other installations
