It was concluded that , the two groups improved at the end of the studyBut intermittent compression therapy (ICT) seems to be more effective in acceleration of reduction of hand edema than high voltage galvanic stimulationThis is because intermittent compression therapy helped in increasing venous and lymphatic flow , enhancing fibrinolytic activity and spreading the intercellular edema over a larger area leading enabling more lymph and venous capillaries to become involved in removing the plasma proteins and water
