The present thesis aims to design simulate and test of active vehicle suspension model . First the background information on a 2 Degree of Freedom quarter - car suspension model is examined followed by the design of the linear quadratic regulator (LQR) . Next a detailed review on the genetic algorithm (GA) which was applied in 2 Degree of Freedom quarter - car suspension model is presented
