Include the infantile and late - onset (adolescent) types . Pathological changes are localized to the posteromedial part of the proximal tibia due to the increased stresses on this part . Patients are obese with varus and internal torsion of the tibia . In infantile tibia vara operative treatment before the age of 4 years with mild to moderate deformity with a single corrective osteotomy is the treatment of choice
