Dissertation note: Thesis (Ph.D.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Agriculture - Department of Pomology Summary: This investigation was conducted during three successive seasons of 2003 , 2004 and 2005 . This study was carried out on some pecan cultivars in three treatment the first one was on seeds of some pecan cultivars for germination acceleration stratification at 5{u00BA}C for 45 , 60 and 90 days and soaking in warm water at 32{u00BA}C for 24 and 48 hours before planting . Stratification for 90 days was the best treatment for Desirable and Cheyenne cultivars while water soaking for 48 hours was the best for Graking cultivars
