Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty Of Engineering - Department Of Civil Engineering
Removal of nitrogen from wastewater by using immobilized nitrifying pellets is considered the main issue of this thesisThe experimental work was carried out in two full scale plants in Hitachi treatment plant , Chiyoda - ku , TokyoThe first one , the immobilized nitrifying pellets (3mm) were applied on the nitrified liquor recycling activated sludge system with capacity 2250 m3 / day to investigate the ability of pellets for removing the ammonia in big influent loadsThe second one , the immobilized nitrifying pellets were applied in nitrified liquor recycling anoxic / aerobic bio - filter system with capacity 50 m3 / day to check the ability of pellets for removing the ammonia in small influent load fluctuations
