The patients were randomly allocated to one of two groups : group (F) (fiberoptic, n=40) in which intubation was guided by fiber optic bronchoscopy . group (B) (blind nasal, n=40) in which intubation was attempted by blind nasal technique . Monitoring and measurement included : the heart rate (HR ), mean arterial blood pressure , peripheral oxygen saturation , time needed for successful intubation , attempts of intubation plasma cortisol level and incidence of complication
