Hepatocellular carcinoma ( HCC ) is the most common cause of primary liver neoplasm . The incidence of HCC worldwide varies according to the prevalence of hepatitis B and C infection . UDP - glucuronosyltransferases 1 A 7 (UGT1 A 7 ) gene polymorphisms including the W 208R SNP (codon 208 : TGG{u2192}GGG ) have been shown to encode enzmes with lower carcinogen detoxification activity and are associated with certain cancers
