Dissertation note: Thesis (Ph.D.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Agriculture - Department of Agricultural Microbiology Summary: this study was conduct to extract humic substances (HS) from different compost sources ( comp. 1, comp. 2 , comp. 3 , comp. 4 ,comp. 5) and biogas manure (Bio. m.6) by two different methods , either KOH (IN) (EPM) or NaOH (0.5N) (ESM) . The humic substances were studied from the extracted quantity were used to determine the different properties of HS ( total acidity , Carboxylic groups and Phenolic groups , atomic structure and IR absorption)
