Two flavonoidal compounds; namely: kampferol-3-O-rutinoside 1 and isorhamnetin-3-O-rutinoside 11 were isolated for the first time from ethyl acetate fraction of the aqueous alcoholic extract of G. tenax fruits. The structure of both compounds was determined applying UV, ¹HNMR, ¹³CNMR, DEPT and MS composition of the hydro-distilled volatile constituents of the fruits was studied using gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC/MS) which revealed the identification of 16 compounds representing about 70% of the total composition
