Thermoacoustics is a branch of science that studies the phenomena of converting heat to acoustic power and vice versa Thermoacoustic engine is a device that converts heat energy into sound or acoustic power .Thermoacoustic engines have many advantages over their conventional counter parts, as they have fewer components with at most one moving part with no sliding seals and no chemicals required .Air or any inert gas can be used as working fluids in the heat engine, that means thermoacoustic heat engines are environmentally friendly the fabrication and maintenance costs of the thermoacoustic heat engines are relatively small, as they have very simple designs the only drawback of the thermoacoustic heat engines is that they didn{u2019}t reach an energy conversion efficiency equivalent to their conventional counterparts, that is because the research in the field of thermoacoustics is not very common but there is a great hope that thermoacoustic engines would reach high efficiencies after sufficient research is performed in the field
