Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Engineering - Department of Metallurgical Engineering Summary: The main concern of this research is to determine the conditions at which the maximum recovery of zinc found in the electric are furnace dust (EAFD) can be obtained using hydrometallurgical processes followed by electrodeposition of zinc from the leached solution. It was found that the optimum conditions for hydrometallurgical extraction of zinc are 0.5M sulfuric acid concentration, with acid/dust ratio=1 and leaching time of 40minutes
