The present study aimed to reveal the physiological role of C - peptide through induction of diabetes using streptozotocin injection in rats . The data obtained from compensatory injection of insulin and / or C - peptide in diabetic rats revealed that C - peptide has a favorable effect on the metabolic profile , besides it affected other hemodynamic functions through its ability to stimulate nitric oxide synthesis in blood vessels
