Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Engineering - Department of Electronics and Communication Summary: In this thesis, we tried the adaptive equalization techniques to mitigate the HF (3 to 30MHz) channel for high data rates transmission. The performance with current standard is investigated. Also, we tried to increase their complexity gradually to cope with high data rates requrements. On the other hand, we tried to reduce the complexity of the much more complex turbo based techniques without exceeding the performance limitations
