Maternal anemia is a common problem in pregnancy, particularly in developing countries. Perinatal risks include preterm delivery, low birth weight and low apgar score. Early neonatal assessment usually consists of: 1. Apgar score. 2. Time to sustained respiration (TSR). 3. Biochemical status. 4. Neurobehavioral testing (usually for research purposes).Methods: 43 pregnant ladies attending the labor ward for delivery blood samples were taken for hemoglobin and random blood sugar analysis
