Oxybenzone is the most widely used lipophilic broad spectrum chemical sunscreen . It effectively absorbs light throughout the UVB range and also absorbs some UVA light and some UVC light . Products containing oxybenzone have so far proven effective in the long - term reduction of skin cancer and lesions such as actinic keratosis
