Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty Of Economics and Political Science - Department Of Statistics Summary: In the last two decades the bootstrap has become one of the most promising inferential resampling methodolgies that is widely applicable in different statistical areas.For many classes of statistics the bootstrap distribution has been proved to be at least as accurate as the approximation obtained from a first order asymptotic theory the matter that made it natural for the bootstrap distribution to provide one of the most useful approaches in constructing higher order accurate confidence intervals for population parameters
