Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Science - Department of Biochemistry Summary: Nature provides a great diversity of different kinds of health-promoting compounds and is an important source of new biologically active molecules for drug discovery. These compounds may help to cure or alleviate serious diseases, among them cancer. Towards this direction, this thesis involves the design and synthesis of novel indoloquinoline compounds containing the natural neocryptolepine core with the objective of discovering novel and potent antitumor agents
