Enteroaggregative Ecoli (EAEC) is a dirrheagenic category of Ecoli isolated from cases of acute diarrhea in developing and developed countries , and persistent diarrhea in developing countriesEAEC not only affects children from developing countries , but also international travelers to these regionsMoreover EAEC may be considered the second most common cause of traveler's diarrhea in multiple areas of the world , being nearly as important as ETEC Although HEp - 2 assay remains the most acceptable test that distinguishes EAEC by its characteristic stacked brickclumps but it requires much time , effort and expensesThe new advanced techniques as DNA hybridization , PCR , and multiplex PCR are now being developed and may replace the HEp - 2 assayBut in the developing countries the problem may still be the expenses , so an easy and cheap test is still required
