Using axial images with reconstruction capabilities weather CT or MRI proved extremely useful in the assessment of stroke with high diagnostic efficiency that reasonably reduced the need for conventional catheter angiography with its possible side effects . Non - invasive techniques such as CTA and MRA have proved to be accurate in vessels (stenosis or occlusion) and aneurysm detection which is the most common causes of stroke
