The goal of this work is to develop a system that detects the common pronunciation mistakes which occur in Quran recitation as a basic step towards a complete automatic system for teaching the recitation rules of holy Quran . These goal can be achieved by developing an automatic segmentation technique to produce correct phonetic units constituting the given speech then exploring the discriminating features between correct and incorrect reading
