Hyperglycemia in patients with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) has been associated with adverse outcome. We tried to show whether less stringent control of hyperglycemia on the first day of admission would improve outcome. We enrolled 54 consecutive patients with acute STEMI who had admission blood glucose {u2265} 200 mg/dL, in the period from June 2008 to December 2009
