In addition, oxygen desaturation during apnea results in sympathetic hyperactivity, and systemic inflammatory response may contribute to cardiovascular co-morbidities including systemic hypertension, cardiac arrhythmias, mypcardial ischemia, pulmonary hypertension, heart failure, and even sudden death
