Dissertation note: Thesis (Ph.D.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Medicine - Department of General Surgery Summary: The esults of this comparative study do not favor a particular technique. A mean observation time of only (12 months) and the small number of the patients (60 patients) is not enough to arrive a final conclusion. Of course, larger series with longer period of follow up will be more informative. From our small thesis we can conclude that more long-term complications are likely to occur in LAGB. However, this may be largely attributed to the relatively short period of follow up
