Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Economics and Political Science - Department of Statistics Summary: In this study the metric multidimensional scaling problem is considered and chance - constrained models are presented to estimate the coordinates required to construct a configuration in a lower number of dimensions . For this purpose this study proposes four chance - considered models where the chance - considered model is one of the stochastic programming approaches that are concerned with random data and can be formulated with unknown parameters
