Dissertation note: Thesis (Ph.D.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Medicine - Department of Anaesthesia Summary: Many neonatal surgeries can be performed by thoracoscope eg: congenital diaphragmatic hernia , tracheophegeal fistula and patent ductus arteriosus. in conclusion, we believe that the procedure of thoracoscopic CDH repair is feasible in the neonatal population the use of single lung ventilation allowed better visualization of operative field that resulted in short operative time without any detrimental effect on hemodynamic and / or respiratory variables

Many neonatal surgeries can be performed by thoracoscope eg: congenital diaphragmatic hernia , tracheophegeal fistula and patent ductus arteriosus. in conclusion, we believe that the procedure of thoracoscopic CDH repair is feasible in the neonatal population the use of single lung ventilation allowed better visualization of operative field that resulted in short operative time without any detrimental effect on hemodynamic and / or respiratory variables
