Thesis (Ph.D.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Arts - Department of English
Islam in the novels under discussion, emerges as a definitive marker of identity. the heroines of these novels reflect the relevance of Islam and its inspiring place in their daily lives. however, the relevance of Islam as a highly important factor in literary narratives by Muslim women writers seems to have been ignored in postcolonial studies in favour of emphasis on gender as in women studies groups
