Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Oral and Dental Medicine - Department of Prosthodontics Summary: This study was performed to compare the effect of two different denture base materials, conventional heat cured acrylic resin and heat cured thermoplastic resin, on the retention of maxillary complete denture. The experiment was carried out on ten completely edentulous patients with no or minimal undercut area. Each patient received two maxillary dentures, one made of conventional heat cured acrylic resin (denture A) and the other made of heat cured thermoplastic resin (denture B), opposing one mandibular acrylic resin complete denture
