Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Pharmacy - Department of Pharmaceutics Summary: In this thesis, controlled release vitamin C capsules which contained vitamin C microspheres were formulated. The microspheres were prepared by the microencapsulation process where the coacervation technique was used and phase separation was introduced by solvent-evaporation. The effect of different processing factors (drug:polymer ratio, speed of stirring and evaporation temperature) on the % yield, encapsulation efficiency, particle size, compressibility%, rate of in-vitro release of drug and extent of release was studied
