Dissertation note: Thesis (Ph.D.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Engineering - Department of Chemical Engineering Summary: Serpentine and E- glass fibers were characterized . They were then incorporated into unsaturated polyester (UP) matrix to from slabs then tested for : 1-thermal properties : the results showed that the insulation behavior of mineral fibers / UP slabs was much better than those of glass fibers / UP and using 10.8% mineral fibers / UP slabs can lower the heat losses by 45% as well as saving about 19% in the cost of resin raw materials
