Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Engineering - Department of Chemical Engineering Summary: The aim of the current study is to replace asbestos in the rocket motor insulator based on EPDM by an insulator containing non-toxic fillers. To achieve this objective, different types of fillers (silica, basalt fibers, glass fibers, and mixture of basalt fibers and glass fibers) were investigated. The physico-mechanical and thermal properties of vulcanized samples were measured, where a comparison was made between the reference sample and the new samples of different types of fillers to get the best sample
