Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Engineering - Department of Electronics and Communication Summary: Coordinated multi- point (CoMP) transmission / reception systems face additional challenges in codebook design and the asynchronous reception of the interfering signals which results from using timing advance mechanisms to ensure simultaneous reception of data at intended users . A new quantization technique is also proposed to prevent the phase ambiguity problem instead of trying to mitigate its effects in addition to simplifying the codebook design
